This a very interesting post. Although blogs are good to promote your products/business, I still prefer Squeeze Pages as my ultimate marketing tool to generate leads. I agree Andy,

I wrote before on my own ways to identify my goals and place them appropriately on pages or blog. People overload their blog with ads, etc and actually loose visitors for a few cents of AdSense clicks VS actually getting a regular reader / subscriber / potential customer ..

I agree with much of this and it's interesting that many people with websites who are dabbling with many forms of Social Media to drive traffic back to the site completely miss the concept of the blog. Blog’s to me are the centre of any Social media Marketing Strategy and can have the same effect as a standard squeeze.

The main thing is to focus on pushing one product or service and generating leads based on this one thing.

You're right, email marketing seems to be overused and abused. Sometimes, I could receive same emails from different guys talking about the same things. And this had made me step back when I encountered a squeeze page. And I also found that some people will just opt-in to get info and then unsubscribe right away after they got what they want. I thought about using blog to be a squeeze page, but what I found the most difficult part is to get updated information on my blog. What's your suggestion to get ideas to write on your blogs? I think you’re right. Blogs can be wonderfully used as squeeze pages. All the things you’ve been saying about making opt-ins clearly visible and that look professional is true. The money is still in the list, just in case anyone was still wondering

Good content proves bribes aren’t always necessary; I had decided to subscribe to your blog before I got to the end of the article. Nevertheless, I’ll happily accept whatever you might have on offer two years on.
