I’m glad you liked it. The realization came as result of working with my customers many of whom are great people and extremely knowledgeable in their area and really just want to be able to use WordPress to fit their needs. I simply do my best to help other to achieve their personal goal using WP.

Thanks for this great article with helpful screenshots! As an artist, not a programmer, I faced so many challenges installing the Branford Magazine theme, I actually wrote a manual to help others.

It’s vital for people to understand that many of us coming into WordPress have no PHP experience, and we may not have a clue about CSS or even much HTML.

We need simple instructions with lots of screenshots and — when code is involved — clear examples of what we’re looking for, and how to change it. This article shows a lot of what we need to know.

With the advent of magazine-style and ‘news portal’ style themes such as Mimbo and Branford Magazine, I think many more WP newbies will be looking for help. Using WordPress as a content management system solves a lot of problems for us!

I’m really glad that you pointed out the two types of plugins. Until I realized that some plugins are uploaded as folders and some are just single .php files… I couldn’t figure out why they weren’t working.
