		<description>Jeff,

Demo is not mine. Someone else maintains it and I simply provide the link and info for people's convenience. I'm pretty sure the author of that blog will not mind you using as base for video tutorials. I think that is what its there for - help people get ready for 2.5

<description>Thanks for the heads up Alex, I see that most of the WordPress guides on my site will need to be updated or done again when version 2.5 is released.

Can I use your demo site to make a sneak peak video?

Thanks, Jeff

		<description>Abi,

I understand and recommend you check the Case's post - I think you will find it beneficial to you :D

BTW, with many blogs - I would use both plugins as long as following some basic guidelines:

1. Backup you wp-contents folder and MySQL
2. Test it on one and if works implement everywhere else.
3. If test fails resolve the problem and continue with other blogs but now your downtime is minimized since you already know how to solve it.
4. Use consistent set of plugins on all blogs to simply administration
5. Use Maintenance Mode plugin</description>

		<description>Alex,

Thanks again for your great advice, of course manual would
be good but I could be working on 15-20 blogs at any one time
and it just gets out of hand.

Best,
Abi

		<description>Abi,

Yes, I'm aware of the plugin and from what I know it works. Since I don't use it I can only make assumptions based on what I know...

1. That plugin you refer to ONLY works on core and ignore plugins leaving them to be your responsibility. So if you have a plugin that is incompatible - it will break the blog.

2. There is a plugin for automating updates on the plugins, although I haven't used it myself, you can read about it on Case Stebvens blog:
http://www.affordable-internet-marketing.com/2008/02/update-wordpress-plugins/

3. I prefer manual upgrades to avoid any issues and for now I stick to it ...

		<description>Alex,

I know there is a plug-in for automatically upgrading to latest version
of Wordpress but what happens to the plug-ins that are not yet compatible
with the new version? Do they just de-activate or will they break?

Best,
Abi

		<description>Yeah, upgrade is a necessary evil :D

And until it is actually released - we will not not for sure about how it is going to affect plugins currently installed. But using well supported plugins should minimize the chance of problems.
