What I am looking to do is similar. I am looking to have a static page as well as the blog appear on the main page of my wordpress site. Right now going to the settings section will only allow me to do one or the other. any feedback would be appreciated. Is there a special PHP INCLUDE tag I should be using for both to appear?

there is also another plugin called WP-Minify which also does the same thing and is quite impressive. What do you guys think about it?

No I discontinued its use a while back. It worked at that time but later it started creating visual atrocities on my blog.

Speedy completely broke my blog, despite carefull installation. fortunately I ALWAYS use a test site on stuff like this. Even uninstalling the plugin still left a fatal error, that I could not easily resolve. The concept is good, but I would advise caution, as this is still very new. Another good test site is http://tools.pingdom.com/ Better breakdown of results are given.
