You are really determined …But just think if someone write sth to your english blog with a foreign language. it is %100 spam …Why would someone write somewhere he/she can not read ?

I honestly can’t think of anyone I know personally that doesn’t automatically dump their spam without looking at it (well maybe the guys need to do a tad more research on certain emails ).

Seriously other than my rich Nigerian uncle who was kind enough to remember me in his time of need… does anyone even pay attention to comment spam???

I know they are desperately trying to get backlinks, but it’s kind of dumb to backlink a comment from a “whatever it’s about” site to your super awesome Viagra emporium or whatever scam they are running. Even if your running a program to do it.

Everyday I read the Chicago Tribune, & every day the same spammer hits the comments with offers of cheap tee shirts & whatnot. If a major newspaper can’t even block the same guy/gal/robot — what chance does a regular joe/jane blogger have.

I get hundreds of those weird spams each week. It is the price of blogging I guess.

We get a lot of attempted spam on our site as well, most of them are extremely obvious, they will make a comment with a double name eg “david david” not really sure why, but it must be an automated spam because the name changes every couple of days. They are persistant, I’ll give them that. I just wish they would put there efforts into something legitimate instead of hassling me.

I have a translator type tool bar thing that pops up when ever I hit a foreign site; easy to see what’s what.

i think it’s provided by the Google toolbar installed.

Yeah, I have a dating site, and I get those stupid spammers on all the time. At least if they participated I might let things slide, but all they do is message everybody with their stupid stories (get rich or get to know you). I’ seriously thinking about blocking whole countries from viewing my site.
