Cheryl,

Your feed does work fine .. I did see FeedBurner through fits like this from time to time .... I would check settings on their end and verify you are good and then just go through their troubleshooting tool ...

Make sure to subscribe to your own feed anyway - it will help you to see if you actually have a problem with feed itself or not.

As always, thanks again, Alex.

Yes, I HAVE those configured just like you said. But maybe something has changed on their end?

I had looked at the code you used on your subscription form and my OLD one - and there was a lot of difference. When I updated it or should I say ASKED FeedBurner to generate a NEW one, the code looked like yours.

So, maybe it is as simple as doing the same INSIDE FeedBurner with all the other parameters? I'll just go over there and try it.

Blessings,
cj

Cheryl,

I have just checked your feed in IE7 - everything looks good, but when using Firefox I see what you are talking about - I got just the default exerts feed.

I think you need to check your FeedBurner configuration. When I actually went through and subscribed to your feed with Google Reader - I can see that your feed works properly. It is just the initial display that is not working when someone click on RSS button on your blog.

So basically - your feed is good and I recommend you always subscribe to your own feed via all means you offer to your visitors, so you could detect ANY issues , but your FeedBurner configuration is out f whack ...

<b>FeedBurner -> Your Feed -> Optimize -> Convert Format Burner -> Enable RSS2

FeedBurner -> Your Feed -> Optimize -> Browser Friendly -> Enable this service and choose whatever theme you like

FeedBurner -> Your Feed -> Optimize -> SmartFeed -> Activate</b>

That should do the trick!

Hi Alex!

I've been trying to FIX this problem for hours! So..I went and searched for a new related posts plugin, as this one is SO useful for helping visitors consume your site.

I found Wasabi.

Wasabi let me know that I was missing that code text AND...there might be something wrong with my database build...which I would have to do by hand.

After I did ALL of that, I got Wasabi to work, although it required trying to figure out how to get the output to an easily readible size.

Once I did this, I located WP23 plugin's home, re-downloaded it and found a text file that said I had to add a line of code the post page file. When I did it, it finally added the section of related posts, but did not fill in any posts, listing NO POSTS for all of my posts.

A little frustrated by that outcome, I just nuked WP23 and reloaded Wasabi. At least I got a lesson on what to do IF this happens again with my other blogs.

As always, THANKS to you for your assistance. Now to figure out why my images are not showing in my RSS feeds.

Cheryl,

Thanks for the comments.

1. Related posts will require that you place a code into your single.php file to call the function.

[php wp23_related_posts(); ] - sorry I can't place complete code in here and you will need to replace the square brackets with php code brackets. Visit author blog for the code:

http://fairyfish.net/2007/09/12/wordpress-23-related-posts-plugin/

2. On your feed - you have to be more specific. Are you using FeedBurner or just the raw feed as that comes with WordPress?

Hi Alex!

Using your products has helped immensely to update my blog. However the Related Posts plugin is not working. Is there a way to call it directly from the template through a modification?

Just for reference, this is an already existing blog, not a new one. Several of the plugins, like Print, Email, Socialize, just don't show up in any other template but yours.

Oh yeah...by the way...

"I Love You For Spam Karma's recommendation!"

Just felt I HAD to say that again. It hasn't been a month yet since I added it and 935 of these have been caught.

Can't you just feel the love...

;o)

Dale,

Well, there are ways to probably achieve it. I don't claim to be a SEO expert so instead I can point you to the information provided by people I personally consider very knowledgeable in blog optimization for SE:

We have a niche site about a Broadway play called <em>Jersey Boys</em>. We have a back link from the official site, although it is buried on a back page of their Flash site. We are being pushed to the bottom of the page or to the second page, by ticket brokers. Within the last six months we have added a forum.

Besides going out and getting more back links from authority sites, how can I rise above Wkikipedia in the SERPs for the keyword phrase "Jersey Boys".

<em>Dale Skarl's last blog post..</em><a href='http://jerseyboysblog.com/?p=2127' rel="nofollow">Jersey Boys?A BIG Hit in the Windy City!</a>
