Thanks for a very informative post. I knew about Google local search, but for some reason, I had either discounted Yahoo! and MS Live (now Bing) or I just didn’t think about them. So, I’m assuming that as long as you get yourself listed in these three main search engines using the local address function, you should rank pretty high for your given keyword – unless I completely missed the point here.

If you have an article relating to keyword search, I’d love to see a link in this post where you mention keyword choices because I always get great information from your posts. Thanks again.

Hi One other thing to keep in mind with local search engine results is the location that your webpages are being served from. Many people are tempted by great hosting offers from companies like HostGator in the US but this will adversely affect your ranking in your home market (if this is outside of the US!) thanks Neil Neils last blog post..Change to Follow Links

I personally donâ��t use Live Search but I guess some people do as I see traffic from that engine on some of my niche blogs.
Once your submissions completed and assuming your blog is optimized for regular search – you should do well in comparative to majority of your competition, because the truth is – 99.9% have no clue how to do what I described above and donâ��t even have a website.

I am a firm believer that if someone is going to start a local search website, it better be just as good, if not better than what already exists. Take a look at searchforitlocal.com. Keypoints, national directory, eash to remember name, all the bells and whistles as the traditional sites plus way more listing details than the traditional boys. I think this site is going to be the next big site in local search.

For niches like internet marketing, is it important to register for local business. I feel they may not be targeted visitors. Of course it is other niches like, lifestyle, entertainment, food, fashion etc. Any way thanks for this information. I diidn't noticed that. I will try in some of my adsense sites.
