I love Adsense for monetizing sites….espicially when that is your plan from the start. I haven’t ever had any luck with click bank though, although I have never really pushed products outrigght, just tried adding them as post sponsors etc…but it didn’t work. You need to right sort of traffic affiliate marketing….moslty Search traffic I would think.

If we link click bank’s ebook, while your readers are returning/loyal — that means we are recommending them by linking the ebooks? And if that ebook has credibility issues (we can’t research about every ebook before linking it) then should not it effect your readers confidence over your blog, if that ebook turn out to be a crap?

Sure, we can’t control with adsense Ads, but it clearly explain those are Ads, linking within my content means my recommendation….

eBay and Amazon also offer an RSS feed that you can incorporate into your Wordpress templates, thus providing a suite of niche products that relate directly to your blog. That’s how I get MacGyver-related products on my Macgyver blog.

Well, it is either got removed or now part of the core? Either way I recommend you stick with code provided by Amazon itself and not use it. I personally never seen the need for that module and always used options provided by Amazon.

Thanks for the great tutorial on using aLinks. To address a couple issues brought up by the other commenters:

The Clickbank module can be downloaded from here: http://headzoo.com/alinks-modules

For those who don’t like Clickbank, there are plenty of other affiliate modules that can be installed (from that same URL).. Such as eBay, iTunes, etc. Or you can just use the general module for any kind of affiliate program.

The one thing that aLinks has over programs like Kontera, is it can’t be blocked by ad blockers. The links created by Kontera are generated with JavaScript. That can be easily blocked by the popular ad blockers out there. The links created by aLinks are physically apart of the HTML. There is no way for an ad blocker to tell the aLinks created links, from just normal links.
