It helps to build incoming links to the blog and is free and it doesn't take much time at all. It's not completely automated but it lets you submit an article or link to just about every social bookmarking site that I know of. Not to mention you can add a button to your posts and make it easy for visitors to spread your links/articles as well. What about Social Marker?
