Hi Alex, your information is always good. I am using the MORE plugin and the All In One SEO plugin by default since it was included in the wordpress uploader of yours. With just those two plugins at work, how am I fixed to help deter the duplicate content problem is there is one?

I am not too versed on entering the codes you mention and to be honest, I do not quite understand completely where they actually go. I only have the one blog and I have not been able to put the time into developing it past doing the posts since I work full time and I travel a lot.

I will be off for 3 or 4 weeks over the holidays and I hope I can catch up some. As of right now, all the posts I have made passed copyscape as original. So, am I reading this correctly, if I were to implement the things not already done, I could actuallly use, say, a slightly re-written PLR article without incurring any penalties?

I have tested a number of PLR articles using copyscape and found every one to have been published numerous times and almost in the original text. I stayed away from them because of that. Since it takes so long to re-write a PLR Article to make it look original, it seemed to me that I could just as well start with as much original content as I could to begin with.

I am getting ready to put up several more blogs once I do a little more studying. It certainly would be easier if I could use PLR articles for content on some of them. Perhaps you could enlighten me a little further on this. Thanks

That's an eye-opener... I always thought of using the more tag to display more compact versions of the post content to fit on the layout, but never thought of using it to combat duplicate content. Do you know how much of the content before the more tag I would have to use before google would consider to be a duplicate of the post itself?

All these things still don't justify your stand that bloggers can use PLR content as such without editing.

Wincent,

Looks right to me, except I wouldn't disallow comments-page, when people comment on your blog they add free content and Google does see it as new content, participation on your blog. Why would you want to disallow big G to see it?

Hi, Alex

I have just added the Disallow tag into my robots.txt & Google webmaster tool.

User-agent: Googlebot
# disallow all files ending with these extensions
Disallow: /?referer=sphere_search
Disallow: /2008/
Disallow: /2009/
Disallow: /comment-page-1

Is it correct???

No, Google Webmaster Tools has an option you can use to remove your own indexed pages from their index. You can also do directories so specifying /2008/* will remove all indexed pages for that year. Just be sure your robots.txt file has a corresponding entry to avoid indexing.
