i completely agree with Doug here as no single activity will work to put you on the top of search engines. That is why i always believe that SEO (combination of all exercises on internet) is must for any website.

Yes, this is a pretty useful “cheat sheet”. Interesting that the Top 3 ranking factors are all EXTERNAL.

I have actually seen pages with virtually no content on them rank pretty well simply because of either external factors, or the domain name happened to exactly match the keywords.

Agree with John. I also give much importance to external backlinks and anchor text either! Anyway it is the number1 ranking factor according to Cheat sheet. Quality content is always important but without quality backlinks we can’t rank well in search engine.
