Frank,

While I agree that you have to pay ongoing fee to maintain the links - I think it is you who misunderstood.

1. You are sent to the site via clocked link - hence you are not seeing the correct stats
2. Actual site have PR3 and Alexa rank of 44,687 - not that I care too much about either one of those stats as they are flawed. Since you know so much about SEO I'm sure you are aware of that.
3. But even all of the above doesn't matter as site that coordinates all the linking removes itself from the process to reduce a "traceability by G" factor or so it was before.

I agree that ongoing fee sucks - but you get what you pay for and I share this info based on my own opinion, which is once again flawed as it is personal even though based on years of webmastering.

The "onewayseo" site mentioned above as "effective" for building incoming links as a PR of O - an Alexa ranking in the 2+ million range......and, most importantly, according to their FAQ, if you drop out of their system, ALL of your links are removed from their system.

If you are just starting out and dont' understand the implications of that - the bottom line is that EVEN if it works ( which based on their own results appear not) you are stuck forever having to pay an onging fee to maintain those links - which is really bad business, terrible customer service and loosely, one could argue "link blackmail" to boot..:-)

Just for what it's worth, of course!

This seems like a great concept, but does this have an advantage over one-way linking?

These are the kinds of services that I would stay away from for most clients. However - I have had some clients with multiple sites in the same niche which they used for various types of testing. This service would be ideal here. Or anytime you get whiff of a new trend & get a good domain to start a quick turnover business.

I guess the other thing is - if Google does seem to penalize this tactic - if you go with the first offering then you can just cancel and those offending links would disappear.

Great tips on link building and I must agree one way links are the best although not easy to get.

But as they say where there is a will there is a way and you have touched on that way - blog commenting is one stratergy I use for one way links and I whole heartedly recommend.

You are all welcome to comment on all my blogs as a way of helping each other out with our ongoing stratergies to rank high on search engines. You will find the list on my site linked to my name above!

Alex,
Since it seems that 90% of G's algorithm is based on backlinks it seems this should be where we place our emphasis. A three way link is much better than a reciprocal link and as long as they are targeted I have found them very useful. AS Max said, you can build your own network but it takes a long time before you get any real results.

Like Max, I too tried the 3 way links method to put build incoming one-way back links on autopilot and didn't find any huge benefit from it. Most of the sites/blogs that linked to me were newly created site purely for the 3WL system.

Maybe in time these sites will carry some weight and it maybe worth looking at again.
