AdSense Is Not Dead And Here Is Proof
There have been a lot of talk lately about Google AdSense stopped been the true contender for income and while in many ways it’s true (I don’t use simply because affiliate links pay me more) it is still a valuable source of income for great many people. People who have no clue about other form of Internet Marketing or income and quite frankly – probably not even interested to get into all the complexity associated with it.
And just yesterday I read a story featured on USA Today “Gray Googlers strike gold” that I think is a great inspiration for people who are looking to not get rich but perhaps simply supplement their existing income in exchange for couple, three hours of daily work. But it goes beyond that …
AdSense is far from dead and if you read the article you will be surprised to learn that some of the people mentioned in that article make more then just supplemental income. $120k a year is a very nice take considering that Jerry Alonzy doesn’t spend too much time on it. Google AdSense is one of the best ways to generate passive income from your blog or site and gives you the freedom to do what you like.
Obviously how much you will earn greatly depends on many factors and I was glad to read a quote from Joel Comm on very same article. Author of AdSense Code he provides one of the most comprehensive advises for people trying to earn that extra money via websites and one I personally find a true bargain you can get from Amazon right now.
Too many people search for latest and greatest way to earn online when one of the most obvious and easiest ways to do so available right there. All you have to do is reach out and grab it.
And here is fact that personally surprised me the most. Out of the 5 people mentioned in that article only 2 had websites I would personally have a second look at but each of them was filled with solid information. Content that is unique, to the point and provides answers to thequestios people have when they arrive on their pages. I hate to say it but in these cases it is clear that content supersedes the form.
I guess the only thing I’m left to wonder about – how much better could have these people done if they had a better designed sites or more optimized for both readers and earnings?
If AdSense is something on your list of monetization I can only recommend you grab Joel’s book AdSense Code from Amazon.

Adsense has never done much for me, but then my blogs are perhaps much too personal to haul in the masses…
I once made the mistake of subscribing to Joel Comm’s mailing list – and he’s certainly prolific! I can’t get through it all… I keep it though – I might need it for that marvelous idea for a blog theme… some day! lol!
Found you via BlogCatalog – will be back for more advice – I’m all new to WordPress, and probably not using it to potential. Cheers!

Yeah, it is fairly obvious that AdSense is not part of my monetization as I prefer work with affiliate commissions but for many people it can be a real blessing. And I’m also on Joel’s list and his info is something worth to know.

Making money with Adsense is no walk in the park. I just started internet marketing and I’m bringing in about $150 per month with Adsense. I’m finding it much easier to make money with affiliate commissions.
Alex, I noticed you don’t have any adsense on this page. I’m assuming it’s because your site sponsors section pays more than adsense would?
Rob,
Yes, I actually use YPN for most text ads but income generated by this form of ads is too small for me to justify the placement. I prefer affiliate marketing as it pays more and make more sense to me. Plus this allows me to control WHAT I promote as opposed to AdSense. I do use Kontera as they are less annoying and better converting.
I still believe that AdSense is valuable option for people who don’t feel like getting involved deeply into marketing and simply want to have their content generate income.
