I think most people try and take advantage of do follow blogs without a comment policy. Its a shame because people who have legitimate comments and discussion can get flagged as spam when they are not.

I think it’s nice to be able to comment a blog, and get something back out of it by getting a keyword in there with a plugin like KeywordLuv.

I guess each to their own, but I have it on my blog

Keywordluv and Commentluv give the reader great incentive to leave a relevant comment to the discussion by being rewarded with a valuable backlink to their site. However it seems like a lot of people try and abuse this feature. I applaud you for standing up to these people.
