I loved this post and it expresses much of how I feel. But I disagree with the comments before mine. I think that a blog can be personal but also useful, informative and entertaining. My blog uses my relationships with my teenage sons and our mutual love of pop culture and how I use technology to help keep up with it, to offer advice to other parents on how to connect with their teens in a similar way.

Jennifer's last blog post..Nathan Fillion casting news

Zibby: wow, you certainly were a busy bee with your comments on this blog. It is great to see readers like you getting involved like you just did and I thank you for it. :-)

Personality is like sand. Sometimes it washes of with the next big wave and at others it is there to stay. I still see many bloggers who do have ample personality, even on business blogs.

As for the loss of personal blogs, I really don't know whether this is true or not. I don't read personal blogs except maybe a few, so I don't have anything to measure against I guess.

I think blogs are moving away from becoming personal writing platforms to truly informative, useful, and entertaining resources. Sure, you can learn about someones personality from a blog post, but not as much as when the blogosphere was occupied by purely personal blogs.
