WordPress 2.6.3 Upgrade Guide

WordPress 2.6.3 upgrade was made available by development team a few hours ago and while it is rated as low risk, I wanted to be sure that you - my reader and my customer have the option to do it in the simplest possible way.

This upgrade is really simple and involves changes to just one file - class-snoopy.php and update to version.php file to reflect the upgrade. In this article I will show couple ways you can use to simplify the process and ensure secure blog.

WordPress 2.5, Things You Must Know

WordPress 2.5 have been officially released a few days ago and this is the first time I provide my personal take on it and sharing things You Must Know before doing the upgrade!

I have to admit - the core blog functionality is great. It takes some time to get used to new interface and has One Big Issue with Media Upload (which I’ll explain how to fix in this article) but overall I can actually see that it is faster, better and performs like a champ! Early releases usually have issues and bugs and this one wasn’t an exception :) . Hint: Anytime you decide to try a new plugin that updates database or modifies tables – be 100% sure you have a good backup or you will get burned! But looks like Keith (author) was able to act on reports from early adopters and address the issues, so it is time to let you know about it.
