If you blog for fun and don’t want anything to do with an online business, you might not need to read this post. If however you do run a business online, regardless of creed listen up as the tips below can present your blog in a more powerful way.

Blogging is fun, I’m sure you agree with this, otherwise you wouldn’t be here. In general bloggers start out because of two reasons:

1. They heard it is cool to start blogging and did so
2. They purposely started a blog to get more exposure for their business

Do you fall into one of those two categories, or did I miss an obvious reason here?

Like a kitchen pantry, a blog pantry contains all the goodies, the seasoning and the secret ingredients for our blogs. One is forgiven to think that some bloggers seem to have all the secret ingredients while others struggle to even be noticed.

Much of this has actually nothing to do with the blog pantry itself, but more so with the blogger. Attributes such as endurance, determination, social abilities, hard work and longevity can often be contributing factors of making a particular blog successful.

It’s funny, here I am raving about how good my host is and then things suddenly go wrong. A few days ago I instructed my hosting provider to upgrade my server to a reseller account. I wanted a more stable environment and more bandwidth, as I’m heavily into niche marketing right now.

All was fine until now. Suddenly my last two posts are gone and so are the latest comments on my blog. As if they never even been there.

The purpose of this post is to show you how important it is to make regular blog backups. To do this I use the WordPress Database Backup Plugin. It works a treat and does the job every time.

WordPress 2.5 have been officially released a few days ago and this is the first time I provide my personal take on it and sharing things You Must Know before doing the upgrade!

I have to admit - the core blog functionality is great. It takes some time to get used to new interface and has One Big Issue with Media Upload (which I’ll explain how to fix in this article) but overall I can actually see that it is faster, better and performs like a champ! And if you don’t use ANY plugin or have verified that ALL plugins you use are compatible - go ahead and upgrade. Otherwise read this article…
