Spice Up Your WordPress Blog With New Plugins

WordPress functionality is greatly enhanced when plugins are added but picking the best is not always an easy task. Each plugin needs to be evaluated by you prior to adding it to your blog for one simple reason – each new installed [tag-tec]plugin[/tag-tec] adds to load time of your blog. If you are not using it – de-activate it.

If you don’t believe me, just take a look at source code of your own blog and between “head” tags you will find that most of the plugins you use that provide an output on your page – there a file or two been loaded on each view. Add too many and it will considerably increase load times. But in this post I want to discuss some brand new plugins for you to consider as functionality they provide might be well worth the load time!

Monetizing Your Blog Without Annoying Your Readers

If you are planning to earn from your bloggin venture (and I’m, as I believe that no effort should be wasted) you will find that it can be very hard to strike a nice balance between what brings you some cash and editorial content.

AdSense is one of the perhaps most overused sources of revenue and way too often I find sites that decide to plug in everything allowed by TOS onto their pages and as result we get legitimate blog looking like splog (SPAM blog created for AdSense revenue only). I have discovered a couple things that allow a reasonable balance and want to share at least one of them that has earned me $234.67 over the period of approximately 10 days and WITHOUT any effort on my part after placing the ad AND without annoying my readers. See the picture:

MyBlogLog Community Mass Message SPAM Controversy

I have been very vocal about new feature that MyBlogLog has introduced – community mass message as I see it as a huge issue for anyone participating in MBL communities. But I do have mixed feelings about this feature:

Now perhaps my opinion will not be the most popular but I’ll be sharing it anyway. Several bloggers spoke out on this new feature and if you want to read their opinion and multitude of comments I’ll provide link below post but for now – my take on MyBlogLog Mass Community Messaging.

Dialup VS Web 2.0 Portals

Perhaps an unusual subject for comparison but I actually thought it was important to bring it up. WordPress blog with all the bells and whistles to make a true interactive Web 2.0 portal can consume quite a bit of bandwidth and load time will greatly depend on the connection speed of the visitors. So the question is:

What Is Most Important To You As Blog Author: Interactivity or Accessibility Of Your Blog?

I provide a quick poll on this question below the article and I would appreciate your vote. But I also want to share some information that brought up this topic and possible solutions and trade-offs.

Give And You Shall Receive

Anyone participating in [tag-tec]Internet Marketing[/tag-tec] is quite familiar with JV Giveaway Events. They are a great way to build subscribers list but also a great way to pick up tons of eBooks, scripts, informational products most of which come with Master Resale Rights Or Private Label Rights.

When used properly you can quickly accumulate everything you need to kick-start your own online business by reworking these products and using them as list building tools. That was how I got my biggest surge of subscribers and product I could provide to people for signing up to my newsletter.
