I certainly avoid doing Christmas shopping and let friends and family know that I will only be handing out cards. As for my son, he is only 1 year and 3 months old, 4 months by the time Christmas rolls through - so he isn't very demanding. But I do hope that by the time he can reason for himself, I'll have raised him to not demand the hottest toy.
