Hi there… first, thanks for your info on upgrading to WordPress 2.9.2. It was a search for that which lead me here. Now maybe I could do you a favor in return… I think what you mean to say, in two of your three posts on “copyrighting” (sic)… is that you’re no “copywriting” guru.
When you say “copyright,” you’re only referring to the legal protection of your content. “Copywriting,” on the other hand, is the practice of writing sales copy to generate orders. That said, as someone with 18 years experience as a copywriter, can I recommend to readers that they don’t dismiss long copy out of hand.
There’s a reason you see so much of it — when it’s done right, it works. In fact, it can often trounce short copy that contains the same offer and general marketing message. Not everything needs long copy to sell, of course. Offer-driven sales letters, very obvious and simple products, etc… these can benefit from short copy. But in the info-marketing world, where I personally sell millions of dollars worth of product per year, you’d be surprised how long copy continues to succeed.
Anyway, thanks again for your info and best of luck with your blog.
