Create Blog Content That Sucks In AdSense Cash – Get More From Those Clicks
If AdSense cash plays a role in your blog monetization model then you absolutely must know how to create content that pulls more expensive ads. When you write your blog you already trying to integrate your more important keywords into each of your posts (I do hope you do so), but why earn pennies when you can pull some real cash?
I don’t use AdSense on my blog as you can see but in this post I will show you completely “white hat” method to discover What Keywords will pull most expensive ads into your content and share a free tool you can use to discover them in a matter of minutes. This very same technique can be easily used for a profitable niche research if you are in that stage of your market research.
Know What Keywords Pay Well Before You Create ANY Content In ANY Niche Market!
And before I move into discussing on how find more profitable keywords I think I need to explain Why. AdSense is becoming more and more expensive and advertisers becoming increasingly smarter. It is very common for advertisers now to target very specific keywords that will trigger their ad for a simple reason – it more corresponds to their product and they find less competition while doing it. They also spend less money by not using broad search but exact phrase match in AdSense. And guess what – two very similar key phrases can cost quite different amount. I’m going to use an example which is pulled on July 8 and is correct for this time frame (these prices do change …).
Let’s say you are in credit niche and creating a post on credit cards. You can simple try to place as many combination’s of your main keywords but did you know how much advertisers are willing to pay for different key phrases to trigger display of their ad? Here is an example:
- “visa credit card machines” – $18.48 – $27.72
- “visa credit cards” – $13.17 – $17.07
So which one of these key phrases would YOU like to target? I think its pretty much a no-brainer … You can always hope that “by accident” you stumble onto “visa credit card machines” and pull that ad or you can KNOW about it and optimize for it! Mentioning this specific key phrase can double your earnings from a single click! Advertisers are willing to pay a lot more for a more targeted key phrase as it gives them higher conversion and optimizing for those key phrases simply means more income to you.
Similar concept can be applied to niche research. Knowing which key phrases pull more expensive ads to your content site or blog can easily mean more income for you. That concept described very well in Red Hot Niches Free Report, which I highly recommend you read.
Before you get all excited I do have to provide a simple warning. These examples can’t be taken at their nominal value but more as a general guidance on their potential profitability. Google provides an option for AdWords advertisers to specify a totally different price for “Content Network” but profitability potential in correlation to each other will still remain true. What that means is that click on ad on content network (your blog) will get less money per click then shown above but content optimized for “visa credit card machines” will still pull more expensive ad.
Prices I provided above are pulled directly from Google AdWords Keywords tool and you can do your research using that tool but it is extremely time consuming, as you will have to discover the exact keywords to use and then their prices. There is a lot better way to accomplish this task and that is what this post was all about – a FREE tool you can use to get whole bunch of keywords with their prices and demand (search volume). As you have perhaps noticed I don’t personally use AdSense, so while I can speak on keywords research being an advertiser – my advice on effectiveness of different AdSense campaigns will be a guess at the most ….

One of the things you have to remember when using AdSense is that advertisers have an option to set totally different price for Content Network when creating new ad. I know I do it all the time even if I allow to display my ads on Content network.
Tool provided above can be effectively used to research specific keywords, demand and possible profitability but any results should be taken only as general guidance.
I prefer to use a aLinks module with ClickBank links integrated as it produces a lot higher return. I personally don’t have AdSense account but use Yahoo YPN for text ads, which is similar in performance and found it less profitable in long term then one I mentioned above
Although I’m aware that there are people who create full time income from AdSense …

To be honest I did not notice the “peel away ad” until I’ve read about it in the article. But I see how it can get some one’s curiosity ticking.
I do advertise extensively via AdWrods, and can tell you that there are few advertisers willing to pay $18 a click on a content site. In fact I and many advertisers that I know avoid advertising on content websites.
But I agree that you are able to make much more as an affiliate. My question is what will happened when the excitement for this product wears out. ow do you find advertisers to place purchase ads?

You have some valid points … but you are also looking at Ads for very specific product. This tool actually works best if you visit a top site for your niche – using that tool reveals all the keywords, approximate demand to price … and yes, it cannot be taken at face value. But it does creates a great view of long tale keyphrases, what Google say it would cost to get to the top for that keyphrase (I assume for Search network) and demand as shown by wordtracker.
Given the price (free) you can’t beat the deal

Alex you always have such great content on your blog. Thanks for sharing this. I have been meaning to remove the adsense from my blog as I just don’t seem to be earning any adsense $. You are right it is all pennies now anyway when you do earn. Not like the good old days.
I know this is unrelated and might belong in another area, but can you point me in the directions as to how you get your Social Networking or bookmarking icons at the end of your posts? Mine are sort of scattered.

I agree with your strategy for checking out keywords. Research is key if you want to make money with Adsense. Unfortunately, the higher paying keywords are extremely competitive. But there are still niches and opportunities if you look hard enough.
