I favor the method of copying to my computer first and then off to my DVD. However, like the poster above, I now have a FLIP and this makes everything so easy. Go Flip!
My recent post <a href="http://www.thisishowyoudoit.com/dvr-computer-record-transfer-movie-show/" rel="nofollow">How To DVR to Computer- Record or Transfer Shows and Movies From a DVR to a Computer</a>

I have always been confused actually about copying from camcorder to dvd, why can't it simply be a case of plugging in your equipment at one end and pressing the necessary button on the other...oh wait, thats what you said isn't it?

I love it when things just "work" :)

Hi there,

Just want to say thanks for simplifying what I thought was going to be a an utter nightmare. I have a digital 8 camcorder and I did not realise I could copy straight to a DVD recorder.

I had tried but failed to copy to my PC. The reason was extremely frustrating. I use Windows Vista which is not compatable with the video editing Imagemixer 1.5 software provided with the software.

My computer crashed when I did finally install and it did not work. Advice is on the Net to use Version 3 of Imagemixer but you cant install this either to Vista. When I went to look for advice on alternative software I could find none.

Basically I will buy a DVD recorder as I have promised my brother I will do a good job recording and editing his wedding day - yikes!!

Yeah, great post!

I have the flip video and what a device this is. Mainly because it comes with a USB built in so you can simply plug it in to your computer. You can then just burn the appropriate DVD. Always nice to have an alternative!
