Cool Firefox Plugin For Bloggers

After playing around with WordPress 2.5 all this weekend and determining for myself that I will have to wait to upgrade due to some compatabilities issues with plugins, I have decided to post about something that works Innocent!

I have discovered and played around with a new extension for Firefox that actually makes posting to a blog NOT only fun but very simplified and enhanced – Zemanta!

Works seamlessly with Wordpress 2.3 and 2.5 it gives you options to add links, tags, images into your post even as you type it! Just see the image below (its liked to the extension) on what I got while typing this very post!

And here is a list of relevant articles as they were located by the extension …

How cool is that?

    Sure thing,

Thanks for a cool plugin – works like a charm and what is even more impressive it looks like integral part of the blog interface even though it is a browser based … great work!

Another great suggestion from the Master! Thanks Alex! I’m going to install and play with it!

I take it that at this point, you wouldn’t suggest upgrading to 2.5? I’ve several blogs running on 2.3.3 and don’t want them to break.

    Thanks,
    Charly

    Charly,

Not yet. The core WordPress 2.5 works great with a few minor minuses – problems are with some plugins, which as I see been addressed on daily bases. As one of my customers you will get a notification when a complete video explaining process and all the files you need to upgrade blog built using my system will be ready.

Also if you have other blogs – you can use what I show in upgrade video to fix any issues with them.

And last but not least – ALL my customers will get something I was asked about multiple times – new themes moded to work with the system :D , so perhaps the wait will be worth it. This blog as you can see is also not upgraded …

    Hi,

I wrote a FireFox extension to help bloggers easily add links to their posts. It uses Google search for link suggestions (not only Wikipedia) and OpenCalais for the semantic analysis.
It’s still alpha code, but I think it’s already useful and fun to use.
    Check it out in kaalga.com
Would love to hear what you think

    Thanks, Amit.

I would love to try this, but I am doubtful because I don’t know if this works with WP 2.7.1. What do you think Alex?
