I Will Stalk You – Socially Of Course

I have just stumbled into a new, still in Beta (hmm … rather unusual for web 2.0 service :) ) service that introduces a different concept of social networking – iStalkr. After reading all the information on their site I still have mixed feeling about this one.

According to them …

[tag-tec]iStalkr[/tag-tec] is a web app that allows you to create a lifestream (based on Jeremy Keith’s Lifestream concept) tracking all your RSS and ATOM feeds for services you use, like Digg, Del.icio.us, Ma.gnolia, Flickr, Last.fm, Google Reader’s Shared Items, Tumblr, Twitter , etc, and create a time line of your activities. You can paste this time line data into on your blog or use the data in other apps. iStalkr then utilizes that data socially, like twitter, where you can monitor your friends time lines and other people can monitor yours.

Faves Revolution – Will this New Web 2.0 Trend benefit Your Blog?

Blogosphere is all about communities built by people just like you and me … and no, “splogs” are not part of it :). Web 2.0 simply implies more participation and better interaction but strong communities are still based on same basic principal of similar interests. And now we all can benefit from a new trend started by Gary Lee and called Technorati fave train.

I have run into this concept after visiting one of my favorite blogs “the thinking blog” and really liked the idea, which I invite you to participate in – Fave My Blog and I Will Fave Yours! And no – this is not unethical and not cheating but a simple way to build community and provide more exposure to the blogs with real content and not one of the adsense blogs that have been properly optimized for SE.

Web 2.0 – Social Networks As Targeted Traffic Source

So you have managed to create your very own [tag-tec]web 20[/tag-tec] website based on [tag-tec]Wordpress[/tag-tec] either by following my instructions or on your own – now what? Without targeted traffic your super interactive website filled with superb content is nothing. So how do you bring that insane amount of visitors interested to read information you share?

There are many ways to get [tag-tec]targeted-traffic[/tag-tec], including commercial but this is not what we will talk about. Our goal is to get things done with as little expense as possible – free is preferable. Well guess what – social networks are perfect for that, as long as you don’t abuse it and actually contribute to their community value by providing information people are interested in.
