WordPress Web 2.0 Spot-Er

This will be a short post and mainly designed with one thing in mind – let you know about one very simple “plugin” that can be implemented on any blog – translation via Google Translate service. I have implemented it on my blog and it can be seen on sidebar.

What makes this [tag-tec]plugin[/tag-tec] so nice – it is a simple HTML and JavaScript code, which can be implemented on any blog platform, including [tag-tec]WordPress[/tag-tec] and will allow visitors that natively speak other language to read you content. See it in action on my sidebar and click (About) link to get your own copy. I do have to admit that Google translate is far from perfect but it will do, since it is better then nothing.

Links from quality sites determine your worth in terms of Search Engine popularity and relevancy. It is a well known fact that unless your site or blog gets some quality [tag-tec]backlinks[/tag-tec] – any popularity you might be gaining with each new post is short lived.

I have experienced it time and time again and the only way to stay ahead of the game is to get some quality sites link back to you consistently. And I’m not talking about link farms, links exchange sites or anything of the similar type. I’m talking about a New Concept – Viralink.

One of the best things I like about WordPress is a wealth of documentation available for the platform. With [tag-tec]WordPress[/tag-tec] 2.2 being released 2 weeks ago I have decided to make a plunge and perform in place upgrade of my blogs.

What I have learned in process is that there are a few things missing in Upgrading WordPress documentation. Although following it to the letter has helped me to overcome and possibly remove any chance of serious problems – I still managed to run into some undocumented issues. This post is to share those details.
