WordPress Web 2.0 Spot-Er

Spammers are actually a good indicator that your blog is becoming popular, that it propagates through Search Engines and number of Spam Comments can be a great indicator of your individual post popularity.

That is assuming you took all the steps to protect yourself from those idiots! I have seen an ever growing number of SPAM comments been killed by my guard – Spam Karma 2 and actually love it! It shows me that I’m reaching people even though alone with normal audience I bring in spam-bots that also locate my pages. But as I more use Spam Karma it kills more and more of spam comments without any need for me to approve or disapprove and I have decided to enable “Do Follow” on my blog!

Today I have decided to check how am I doing with my rankings on Technorati and lo and behold …

Technorati tells me my blog Number 1. Its kind of funny since I know for 100% I’m not even close but it does look good. I guess something I can shoot for See image below:

While it might seems like I’m neglecting my blog – its not. After releasing beta of my product Web 2.0 Wealth Unleashed to a testers group I have received such a great feedback on improving it and fixing some small issues –I’ve been hard at work.

The goal is to produce a package that will truly be accessible to anyone – no matter the technical knowledge or marketing experience. While there might not be much from marketing perspective for the people doing Internet Marketing for a while – simplicity of setup and ability to quickly setup a network of profitable blogs using my system still will be appreciated by many.

And without going too deep into my work I wanted to share some posts that has got my attention and are well worth spending a few minutes to read them!

Every site or blog has a main keyword (or at least I hope you do) that it wants to rank well for in Google Search Results. In my case it is “wordpress web 2.0” and if you do a search right now on these keywords you will find my blog in number 3 and 4 positions with only the wordpress.org ranking higher. See image below …

But that test only provides me with information without full understanding of why, although as a webmaster I’m fully aware of many things involved and done my SEO. Google gives great value to other sites linking to you for with your chosen keyword in anchor text and what it sees as relevant links. More sites refer to you – better you will rank.

And I just run into a great tool that will help you do just that!

Since releasing my modification of FH Freedom theme that I was planning to use for one of my own projects on June 15 I really didn’t spend much time on promoting it. I submitted it to couple directories and posted a note on it in appropriate location in WordPress.org forum – that is it.

Almost month and a half after its release I decided to take a look at the stats. According to my counter it has been downloaded 459 times to this date. Not a big number but considering the luck of promotion – it is a fair one.

I’ve been watching this plugin closely but decided not to write about it on initial release. WordPress Automatic Upgrade Plugin sounds like a superb idea and one that will become a true life saver for many bloggers but …

Early releases usually have issues and bugs and this one wasn’t an exception . Hint: Anytime you decide to try a new plugin that updates database or modifies tables – be 100% sure you have a good backup or you will get burned! But looks like Keith (author) was able to act on reports from early adopters and address the issues, so it is time to let you know about it.

You are not misreading! The title is correct and I’m going to share in this post an information that will make your WordPress blog really Suck-in some subscribers .

We are all part of multiple social groups, associations and organizations whether willingly or not is a different issue but what perhaps is most important – we tend to act in accordance to our associations. Sometimes opinion of the group is so overpowering that we tend to do things as everyone else, even when it goes against our previous thoughts.

So without digging into psychology and simply knowing that it is true – why not take advantage of it? Your WordPress blog can greatly benefit from increased subscribers number and present you with more options to express your opinion, share your experience and perhaps monetize your efforts.
